Split a PDF into multiple files for free
Break the whole document into several PDFs: one for each page or one for each range you enter (1-3, 4-8, 9-12).
Drag your files here or click to choose them
How to use “Split PDF”
- Add the PDF you want to split.
- Choose “One page per file” or “By ranges” and type each range separated by commas (for example 1-3, 4-8, 9-12).
- Click “Split PDF”.
- Download all the resulting files together in a ZIP.
One file per range
Each range produces a separate PDF: “1-3, 5” gives you one file with pages 1 to 3 and another with page 5. Page numbers start at 1. If the result is several files, they download together in a ZIP.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Files processes your files directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter the ranges?
Separate ranges with commas. Use a hyphen for a span (2-4) or a single number for one page (7).
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are into the new PDF, without recompressing images or text.
Can I split several PDFs at once?
This tool works on one PDF at a time, so the ranges apply without ambiguity.
Split or extract pages?
Split when you want to divide the whole document into several files, for example one invoice or one chapter per PDF. If you only need specific pages and want to discard the rest, “Extract PDF Pages” saves them together in a single new PDF.
