What reduction to expect
This tool optimizes the PDF without touching its content: it removes unused objects and leftovers from earlier edits, stores repeated images and fonts only once, strips private data from design apps and embedded thumbnails, and compresses whatever was left uncompressed. There is no quality loss, but no image recompression either. The reduction is moderate and depends on how the file was created; on an already optimized PDF it may be zero. If it can’t be reduced, we tell you and you keep the original.

Why does my PDF barely shrink?
If its weight comes from high-resolution images, the only way to shrink it would be recompressing them, which degrades quality. This tool doesn’t do that: it puts keeping the content intact first.

What if the result is bigger than the original?
