How to use “ODT to PDF”

  1. Select or drag in your .odt document from LibreOffice Writer or OpenOffice.
  2. Choose the mode: “Faithful pagination” (recommended) or “Quick flow”, and wait for it to finish.
  3. Download the PDF, or all of them together in a ZIP if you converted several documents.

OpenDocument format

Page size and margins, headers and footers, fonts (or metric-compatible equivalents), line spacing, lists, tables with the width of each column, their background colors and borders, and images are all respected. The text can be searched and copied in the PDF. “Quick flow” instead produces a lightweight vector-text PDF, with basic typography, colors and tables, that flows without the page breaks of the document. Text columns, footnotes and embedded charts are not reproduced.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Files processes your files directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Are the images and colors in the ODT kept?

Yes. PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP and SVG images are included, as well as the background colors of tables, cells and paragraphs.

Which programs create ODT files?

LibreOffice Writer, Apache OpenOffice and other word processors that support OpenDocument.

What if I don’t have the font of the document installed?

An equivalent with the same metrics is used (for example Arial instead of Liberation Sans) so the text takes up the same space, or a modern system font if there is no equivalent.
